Healing the Dry Places You Don’t Talk About

There are parts of your life you’ve learned to live around…

instead of heal.

Not because you don’t want healing—

but because it’s easier to function than to feel.

So you adapt.

You adjust.

You move forward…

while quietly carrying what still hurts.

What Are “Dry Places”?

Dry places are areas of your life where:

  • Something happened… but was never processed
  • Something hurt… but was never healed
  • Something shifted… but was never acknowledged

And over time…

you stop expecting those areas to feel whole.

Biblical Anchor

Isaiah 58:11:

“The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land.”

God specializes in restoring what feels beyond repair.

Why We Avoid Healing

  • It feels easier to move on than to revisit
  • We don’t want to reopen pain
  • We’ve normalized dysfunction

But avoidance doesn’t equal healing.

The Healing Process

Healing often looks like:

  • Slowing down
  • Acknowledging what happened
  • Allowing yourself to feel
  • Inviting God into it

Not rushing.

Not fixing.

But processing with God.

Reflection

What part of your life have you learned to function around… instead of heal?

Closing Truth

God is not intimidated by the parts of you you’ve been avoiding.

He’s inviting you to bring them into the light.
